Scoring
These rules are generated from the current Admin Settings and active tournament setup for World Cup 2026 2026.

A selected multiplier multiplies the match score by 2. Exact 2-1 on a multiplier match scores 18 points. Each player may select 1 multiplier match across the tournament. Unused multipliers can move between open future matches; a multiplier is spent once its match locks, starts, finishes, or receives a result.

Each match locks 15 minutes before kick-off. Predictions can be edited until the match enters the lock window.
Other players' predictions follow the configured reveal rules and are not always visible before lock/reveal.
If a player leaves a match prediction blank until the relevant lock closes, that match is automatically forfeited for that player and scores 0. The player sees a dismissible notice with the exact affected matches; admins can review the same notice text in the Audit log.
For missed group-stage predictions, the pool uses a neutral 0-0 projection only to keep that player's knockout bracket calculable. It is not saved as a prediction and the missed group match still scores 0.
For knockout matches, a tied predicted score is treated as a penalties decision and also needs a selected winner. Non-tied knockout score predictions infer the winner from the score.
Money-enabled leagues can include prize players and points-only players in the same tournament. Players are included in the prize pool by default while the prize-pool window is open, and unpaid players can choose points-only play before the cutoff.
Points-only players still save predictions, answer bonus questions, earn points, and appear in all-player and points-only rankings. Only paid prize players are eligible for payouts.
Payment must be recorded before the prize-pool cutoff shown below. Unpaid prize-pool players automatically move to points-only play after that cutoff, stay ranked, and cannot win prize money unless an admin changes their mode.

After the group phase and after each completed knockout phase, the next knockout phase opens for review once official fixtures are known. This happens round by round, such as Round of 32, Round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals, and final or third-place matches when those phases exist.
During an open knockout phase, fixture review closes at the phase lock: 15 minutes before the first match in that phase starts. Score, winner, and end-selection predictions still follow each match's own lock: 15 minutes before that match kicks off.
Later knockout phases stay locked until the whole previous player-predicted knockout phase has complete winners, unless official fixtures for that next phase are known and its fixture-review window is open.
If a knockout match is still blank when that match's own lock closes, that match is forfeited and scores 0 for that player. Knockout forfeits do not create a winner for later rounds.
If the official fixture differs from the player's original projected fixture, the player can keep the original fixture for no penalty, but a fixture mismatch scores 0 points.
The player can instead use the official fixture for the real match. That is an official-fixture adoption choice, not a late-change fee. Any deduction is configured per phase, applied after any multiplier, and can make the match score negative.
Once the phase lock passes, the player UI no longer allows fixture-basis changes for that phase. Score and winner/end changes remain available until the individual match lock.
Bonus answers lock at the bonus-answer cutoff: countdown loading.... Bonus question order, answer choices, and points come from the selected tournament's Admin - Questions setup.
Each player chooses one answer per question before the lock. Admins or the secured bonus-question API set the final actual answer; exact matches receive the configured points and rankings combine those points with match points.
